D-Flex (Chondroitin Sulfate)

Chondroitin sulfate is a natural substance found in the joints of horses. It helps protect and regenerate cartilage, which is important for joint mobility and health. The joints of older horses can suffer from wear and tear during sport or purely due to age. In these cases, the self-produced chondroitin sulfate is often not present in sufficient quantities to ensure smooth joint function. D-FLEX can compensate for the chondroitin sulfate deficiency in your animal. Chondroitin sulfate can be used as a horse feed supplement to prevent or treat joint problems such as arthritis, inflammation or wear and tear.

Chondroitin sulfate is often used as a nutritional supplement in horses to support joint health and potentially help with joint diseases such as arthritis. It is often used in combination with other joint nutrients such as glucosamine and MSM (methylsulfonylmethane).

The use of chondroitin sulfate in horses has similar goals as in humans and other animals:

• Supporting Joint Function: Chondroitin sulfate is thought to help maintain the health of the cartilage in the joints and potentially slow joint wear and tear.
• Anti-inflammatory effects: Chondroitin sulfate is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce inflammation in the joints.

D-FLEX should/can be given:

• If your horse has inflamed or stiff joints
• If your horse suffers from arthritis or early arthritis
• In older horses, to protect them from arthritis or DJD (degenerative joint disease) to protect

Feeding recommendation (horse):

• Introductory dosage: 9 ml per day for 14 days
• Maintenance dose: 6 ml per day.
• Administered via food or orally using the included syringe
• Ponies receive 6ml per day for 14 days, then 4ml per day thereafter
• 6 ml dosage/day is enough for 40 days (250 ml)
